Speed Auras: Arena vs Siege

This is the most common source of confusion for players transitioning into Siege or building Live Arena teams.

Arena auras work in Live Arena — but NOT in Siege.

Champions with an “Arena Battles” speed aura (Arbiter, Lyssandra, etc.) apply their bonus in Live Arena because it counts as an Arena battle. Siege is a separate PvP mode and does not trigger Arena-scoped auras at all.

ModeArena speed aura works? What you need instead
Classic Arena✅ Yes
Live Arena✅ Yes
Tag Team Arena (TTA)✅ Yes
Siege❌ No”All Battles” speed aura

Why it matters for Siege

Siege teams need a champion whose aura says “All Battles” — not “Arena Battles”. There are far fewer of these, and the best ones are rare. Yoshi the Drunkard (19% SPD, All Battles) is a common budget pick. Arbiter’s 30% SPD looks impressive but does nothing for your Siege team’s turn order.

When scouting an opponent’s Siege defense, check whether their speed leader has an Arena aura — if so, it is dead weight and their real speed is lower than it appears.

Live Arena: banning the speed leader

Because arena auras do apply in Live Arena, the opposing team’s speed leader (typically Arbiter) is the standard first-ban target. Removing it collapses their turn-order advantage before the match starts.
