TL;DR — Combining
Stack same rarity. Never mix Mythical with lower tiers.
Four Mythical orbs → 20% Mythical relic. Replacing even one Mythical with a Rare cuts your Mythical odds by more than half. Always commit to your highest available tier per craft.
| Goal | Best craft |
|---|---|
| Mythical relic | 4× Mythical orbs (20% chance) |
| Legendary relic | 4× Mythical orbs (still optimal) |
| Epic relic | 4× Legendary orbs |
| Rare relic | 4× Rare orbs — don’t waste higher |
The crafting window shows live probability updates as you add materials — always check before confirming.
How Relics Work
Relics are equippable items (added Patch 10.00, December 2024) that give a champion a fixed stat bonus and a unique passive ability. Unlike gear, the stats and ability are predetermined — you’re choosing the relic, not rolling it. Each relic has 6 Ranks (like champion stars) that scale the ability’s power.
4 Rarity tiers: Rare → Epic → Legendary → Mythical
Higher rarity = more Gemstone sockets + stronger ability baseline.
The 6 Relic Groups
Every craft has a guaranteed 50% chance of being Standard. The remaining 50% is split based on which group’s materials you load.
| Group | Materials from | Strength |
|---|---|---|
| Standard | Any materials (always 50%) | Foundation, some excellent relics |
| Faction Wars | Daily FW Hard Mode completion | Strongest-per-tier for most players |
| Chimera | Weekly Chimera Clan Boss | Most powerful overall — gated by weekly keys |
| Clan | Clan Shop (Gilded Medallions) | Good, limited by daily Medallion income |
| Live Arena | Runed Obsidian from Live Arena | Strong PvP-focused set |
| Event | Seasonal events | Time-limited, varies by event |
50% Standard is unavoidable — lean into it
No matter what materials you use, half your crafts will be Standard. The Standard pool includes some genuinely excellent relics (Journal of Necrotos, Hallowed Hilt, Aspect of Siroth), so this isn’t a waste — but it means targeting a specific non-Standard relic takes patience.
Crafting Mechanics
Each craft uses 4 slots, minimum 25 materials per slot = 100 materials total.
You can mix materials across groups and rarities freely. The two levers:
- More materials of a specific group → higher chance that group’s relic appears in the 50% non-Standard roll
- Higher rarity materials → higher chance of higher rarity relic output
You don’t have to use exactly 25 per slot — you can stack more materials in a slot to push the probability further, but 25 is the floor to unlock a slot.
Don't mix Mythical orbs with low-rarity fillers
Mythical materials are scarce (Chimera Trials only). Diluting them with Rare fillers dramatically reduces your Mythical relic odds. Save Mythical orbs until you have four of them.
Where to Get Materials
| Source | Materials | Frequency |
|---|---|---|
| Chimera Clan Boss | Ocular Masses + Chimera orbs | Weekly keys |
| Faction Wars Hard | FW-specific orbs | Daily |
| Clan Shop | Gilded Medallions → Clan orbs | Daily cap |
| Live Arena | Runed Obsidian | Per match |
| Events / Forge Pass | Various | Seasonal |
Priority for material farming: Faction Wars Hard daily is the most consistent source for most players. Chimera is the highest ceiling but weekly-gated.
Top Relics to Target
SS Tier (game-changing)
Perched Shadow
(Faction Wars Epic) Extra turns when default skill procs on cooldown. Universally valuable on any support or damage dealer. Recently promoted to SS.
Wand of Submission
(Live Arena) Reflects CC debuffs back at the caster. Hard counters champions like Armanz. Best arena relic in the game.
Crown of Corruption
(Standard Legendary) Flat Speed gain + damage scaling. Arena meta staple. Effect gets devastating at high ranks.
The Deathdealer
(Chimera) Guarantees critical hits and ignores affinity weakness. Transforms weak-affinity matchups.
Arachnelixir
(Faction Wars Rare) Dramatically boosts poison damage. Near-mandatory on dedicated poison champions (Nethril, Warmaiden, etc.).
Volcardiac Heart
(Chimera) Shields + damage reflection. Exceeds expectations in Arena and Chimera itself.
S Tier (very strong)
Hallowed Hilt
(Standard) Massive SPD stat stick + healing synergy. Best-in-slot for speed leads.
Chrysalid of Rebirth
(Chimera) SPD boost + revival synergy. Best-in-slot for most reviver champions.
Irethi Coronet
(Clan) Budget-friendly damage multiplier. SS-tier efficiency per material cost.
Aspect of Siroth
(Standard Legendary) Damage reduction based on Turn Meter. Excellent for Rotos despite nerfs.
Worth Using (A Tier)
- Journal of Necrotos (Standard Rare, 7/10) — Boosts all heals and TM increase effects. Best universal Rare for support champions.
- Hammer of Ending (Faction Wars Epic, 7/10) — Unresistable stuns after huge damage. Great for Faction Wars and Cursed City.
- Golden Elixir (Standard Epic, 5/10) — Instant 10% heal when below 50% HP. Solid early progression option.
- Demonic Effigy (Standard Epic, 6/10) — TM gain when allies die. Good on revivers.
Skip / Fodder
⚠ Rod of Blasphemy
(Standard Rare, 1/10) Worst Standard relic. Use as rank-up fodder immediately.
⚠ Mask of Rage
(Standard Rare, 1.5/10) Only works with Provoke synergy. Nearly useless in practice.
⚠ Unholy Grail
(Standard Rare, 2/10) Damage bonus under debuffs — too conditional to be reliable.
Gemstones
Gemstones socket into a relic’s slots for an additional passive effect. Each relic has a fixed number and shape of sockets — you can only insert a gemstone that matches the socket shape. Higher rarity relic = more sockets.
5 socket shapes, 63 total gemstone types:
| Shape | Effect category |
|---|---|
| Circle | Combat utilities: damage, crits, survival |
| Diamond | Healing, energy, restoration |
| Pentagon | Speed, control, TM effects |
| Square | Defense, debuff mitigation, resistance |
| Triangle | Offensive power, damage amplification |
Gemstone priority by role:
- Speed leads → Pentagon sockets (SPD gemstones)
- Nukers → Triangle sockets (damage multiplier gemstones)
- Supports → Diamond sockets (healing/TM gemstones)
- Tanks → Square sockets (defense/resist gemstones)
Socket shape matters as much as the relic itself
A relic with a Triangle socket is far more valuable for a damage dealer than the same relic with only Circle sockets. When evaluating relics to keep or discard, check whether the socket shapes match your champion’s role.
Ranking Up Relics
Relics have 6 Ranks — each rank amplifies the passive ability’s numbers. Some abilities have activation chances that only become reliable at Rank 4–6.
Only rank up relics you intend to keep long-term. Rank-up materials are scarce. F and D tier relics should be fed as rank-up fodder into your S/SS tier relics immediately.
Priority Framework — Where to Start
- 1
Start crafting immediately — don't hoard
Rare and Epic relics provide real value right away. There's no benefit to sitting on materials while your champions run naked. Craft with what you have.
- 2
Do Faction Wars Hard daily
Most consistent material source. FW Hard materials produce the strongest relics per tier. This is your bread-and-butter pipeline.
- 3
Spend Chimera materials only when you have 4 of same rarity
Chimera orbs are weekly-gated and the most valuable. Don't mix them with lower-rarity fillers. Patience here pays off.
- 4
Stack same rarity per craft — check the probability window
The in-game crafting screen shows live odds. Always verify before committing, especially on Legendary/Mythical materials.
- 5
Feed D/F tier relics as rank-up fodder
Rod of Blasphemy, Mask of Rage, Unholy Grail — don't equip them. Use them to rank up your SS/S tier relics.
- 6
Match gemstones to socket shape AND champion role
A Triangle socket on a nuker is much more valuable than a Diamond socket. Evaluate socket shapes when deciding which relics to keep.
